Who Is Eligible
You must...
- Be enrolled as a degree-seeking undergraduate student at USC
- Be in good standing with the university
- Have a research faculty mentor
- Note: Due to this postion involving sharing about your research experience, verification by your current (or previous) Faculty Research Mentor is required. We strongly encourage informing your mentor that you are applying for the role and notifying them that our office will be sending them a short verification form on your behalf upon receipt of your application.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn more about the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) and the role it plays on campus
- Demonstrate public speaking and communication skills
NOTE: Ambassadors may have conducted research as volunteer experiences, independent study courses, or through grant (not limited to OUR) or departmental funding, etc.
Responsibilities
- Attend mandatory training in the fall (Monday, August 18, 2025; 12 pm - 5 pm)
- Attend monthly staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with supervisor (based on Ambassador schedules)
- Actively participate in outreach events throughout the academic year (including University 101 presentations, tabling events, campus partner and student organization presentations, and more!)
- Volunteer at Discover USC
- Maintain knowledge about the services offered through the Office of Undergraduate Research
- Serve as a role model and peer leader in the USC community
Students will NOT be asked to miss class to participate in Ambassador events.
