life. The State Health Plan offers a free tobacco cessation program for members 18
and older, including personalized support and free cessation aids.
PEBA Phising Scam
Phishing scams often mimic trusted organizations to steal information. Below are tips
to help you recognize legitimate communications.
PEBA will never cold call or email you asking for personal passwords, PINs, or PII. Emails from PEBA come from a peba.sc.gov address. Always double-check the sender’s address. Avoid clicking links in emails you’re unsure about. Instead, type the URL directly
into your browser to access PEBA’s website.
If you’re ever uncertain about a communication, verify directly with PEBA before taking
action.

TIAA Financial Consultants will host one-on-one consultations at the Russell House
on the following days:

USC Division of Human Resources and TIAA joined forces with the student loan experts
at Savi to help you navigate the complexities of federal student loan programs. Lower
your monthly student loan payment and work toward loan forgiveness with these resources

Cocky Cards
A quick and simple way to recognize your colleagues and peers is to send a Cocky Card to express your thanks, appreciation, congratulations or to send a birthday greeting.
The Human Resources’ web page provides five automated e-cards you can use to send
a message.
403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity Plan
USC and Human Resources are committed to providing the most competitive retirement
benefits for employees. CAPTRUST, an independent retirement plan consultant, was contacted to assist HR in identifying ways
to enhance the 403(b) Plan relative to appropriate peer university benchmarks. If
you are a USC employee who participates in the 403(b) Plan, you received a Transition Guide with detailed explanations of these enhancements on the 403(b) Plan.
